The Family Narratives / Nation(alistic) Narratives workshop brought together international scholars exploring how family discourses intersect with national discourses and the symbolic construction of the ideal family. Contributions ranged from studies on the desire for a family in assisted reproduction, international adoption of children, migration and diaspora, national ideals in children’s education, and normative female and mother identities, among other topics.
